2. Scope and quick summary

This policy covers the Capybara Venture mobile game (the “Game”) and this official website. The current Game has no user account, social login, developer-operated analytics backend, or cloud profile. Progress and settings are stored locally on your device.

3. Data processed when you visit this website

This is a static website hosted through GitHub Pages. We do not place analytics scripts, advertising scripts, marketing cookies, user accounts, contact forms, or local-storage trackers on it.

As the hosting provider, GitHub may process technical connection and log data needed to deliver and secure the site, such as your IP address, browser information, requested page, date and time, and security events. If you contact us by email, we process your email address, message, and any information you provide to answer you and maintain necessary correspondence. Depending on the request, the legal basis is performance or preparation of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, or our legitimate interest in responding to genuine inquiries.

4. Data handled by the Game

Local game data

Progress, upgrades, achievements, preferences, tutorial state, and similar game information are stored on your device. We do not receive this local save data through a developer-operated server. It remains until you reset the Game data, clear app storage, or uninstall the Game, subject to your device backup settings.

Technical permissions

The exact permissions available to the Game are listed by your app store and operating system. Capybara Venture does not need your name, postal address, contacts, photos, or microphone to operate its core gameplay.

5. Advertising and third-party processing

The Game uses Google AdMob to show banner, interstitial, and/or rewarded advertising. Rewarded ads are optional: you choose whether to watch one in exchange for an in-game benefit.

Depending on your device, region, consent choices, ad availability, and Google’s configuration, Google and authorized advertising partners may process:

Google and participating vendors may act as independent controllers for some processing. Their retention periods and recipients are governed by their own policies. See Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Legal bases

Where applicable law requires consent for accessing device information, personalized ads, or related processing, the legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and applicable device-storage rules). Strictly necessary ad delivery, security, and fraud-prevention operations may rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) where the law permits. You may withdraw consent for future processing at any time.

International transfers

Advertising providers may process data outside Germany or the European Economic Area. Where the GDPR applies, providers must use a recognized transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses, together with required safeguards. Consult the provider policies above for current transfer details.

6. Your advertising and privacy choices

• Consent dialog: where required, the Game asks for advertising choices through Google’s consent platform.
• Privacy choices: when the consent platform makes it available, you can reopen your choices from the Game’s Settings menu.
• Device controls: Android and iOS provide settings to reset, restrict, or delete advertising identifiers and to control app permissions.
• Rewarded ads: you can decline them and continue playing without that particular reward.

Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Ads may still appear in a limited or non-personalized form where permitted.

7. Retention and deletion

Local game data

Until you clear app data, reset the Game, or uninstall it, subject to device backups.

Email correspondence

Only as long as needed to answer the request and meet applicable record-keeping or legal-defense duties.

Advertising and hosting data

According to the applicable Google or GitHub retention rules; we do not control their independent retention systems.

Because the Game currently has no developer-operated account or cloud save, there is no central player profile for us to delete. You can delete local Game data through your device settings.

8. Your rights

If the GDPR applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or receive your personal data; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. These rights can be limited by statutory requirements.

Send requests to thetaurusandtheking@gmail.com. We may need enough information to verify the request without collecting more data than necessary. You may also contact the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg or another competent supervisory authority.

9. Children

Capybara Venture is not designed to collect a child’s name, contact details, or account information. Advertising configuration and store age declarations must match the audience of the released Game. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to us, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.

10. Security, policy changes, and contact

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the limited data we control. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

We may update this policy when the Game, its providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date and version at the top identify the current text. Material changes will be made visible in the Game or on this page where appropriate.
